Adjusting the extruder controller

Some of the printers has clicking noise when extruding filament . This due low current supplied by the extruder stepper controller   The following steps will resolve this issue:
  • Adjust the voltmeter to measure continuous current and place the probe of the positive (red)to the center of the controller rheostat and the negative (Black) Probe to the negative socket on  the control board as shown in the photo below.
  • Measure the voltage, reading should show 0.8-1.2 volts.
  • Bring plastic or ceramic screwdriver (or you can trim a zip-tie to be a screw driver) and rotate the rheostat to (1.1 to 1.4) as shown in below photo.
